Thanks for the video Summer :) i really dont like this dish, although i’m not a picky person! i like kushari (the Egyptian dish)
It’s interesting that you cook it with the onions, we usually do the onions separately. How does the taste differ?
You are welcome George!
this is my own recipe to cook Mujaddara the “easy way” ! i use pre-cooked or leftover rice and mix it with the boiled lentils. cooking the onions then mixing up everything else does not change the taste at all…it is less greasy this way…i cook this same dish and i make the pasta and the sauce of the side and all of the sudden you have Kushari!! :)
Once on my life I tried to be proffessional like you , and one friend told me the way how to cook Mujaddara.
But the funniest thing that I went to the market and I brought Red lentils instead of Brown ones , and I followed the whole procedure , I didn’t know that there is a difference , I was thinking that the red ones will become brown after cooking them .
You can now imagine what was the result , every one was laughing at me , it was horibble that I have thrown it away directly , and it was the joke of the day at that time : )
Thanks Niddal for watching. Now you know how to cook it, hope it works out for you.
